Welcome

Welcome to the online “study” of David Anderson. These pages will provide a temporary home for some of his ongoing projects, including recent sermons, as well as links to articles and places of interest.

The Reverend David J. Anderson is an Anglican priest and the Rector of the Church of Saint John the Evangelist at the corner of Locke Street and Charlton Avenue in the west end of Hamilton, Ontario.

David’s blog is known as  “the rector’s place”.

The Anderson family live in the parish neighbourhood, close to downtown Hamilton. They arrived in Hamilton in September of 2006 after five years in Ridgeway. They have also lived in St Catharines and Toronto, Ontario.

The Church of Saint John the Evangelist is a welcoming community, rooted in the Anglican tradition of the Christian faith. A number of years ago this growing and vital parish made a commitment to offer worship in a variety of worship styles. As such Sunday worship includes:

  • 11 AM: Choral Holy Eucharist.

Worship in the best Choral tradition of the Anglican Church.

  • 9:30 AM: Discovery Service.

Contemporary worship music. Modern liturgy. Eucharistic. A place to explore.

  • 8 AM: Book of Common Prayer (said).

A quiet service in the classic words of the BCP.
